Standard Card Insights

This guide explains how to click into a standard to view proficiency levels, group students by proficiency, and assign targeted practice. Helpful for teachers using Standards Cards to differentiate assignments.

Standards Reports give you a quick snapshot of student understanding. Clicking on any standard opens a detailed breakdown to help you understand student proficiency and assign targeted practice.

What You’ll See When You Click a Standard

When you open a standard, you'll see students organized into three color-coded proficiency categories:

  • Proficient (Green): Students who understand the skills tied to this standard.

  • Needs More Time (Yellow): Students who are practicing, developing, or recently introduced to the concept.

  • Needs Help (Red): Students showing skill gaps who may benefit from targeted support or intervention.

What You Can Do in This View

From the standard detail view, you can take action immediately:

• Assign targeted practice

Send individualized Practice assignments or small-group work directly from the dashboard.

• Group students for instruction

Use color categories to quickly form intervention groups, reteaching groups, or enrichment groups.

• Track proficiency changes over time

Monitor how students move from Needs Help → Needs More Time → Proficient as they progress.

Tips for Making the Most of Standards Reports

  • Use the green/yellow/red color coding to create data-driven groups for workshops, stations, or small-group instruction.

  • Red indicators are a great starting point for intervention. Assign a Practice or check in with students individually.

  • Review the standards view frequently to watch growth and identify skills that may need additional instruction.
