Note: This guidance applies to both teacher and admin views. Tab names may differ, but the rules for when data appears and how proficiency is calculated are the same across both.
When Does Data Populate?
Results Tab (Assignment Level)
Data appears in the Results tab as soon as students begin working. Use it to answer:
Who has started and who hasn't?
Who is progressing vs. stuck?
Which skills or questions are most frequently missed?

Standards Cards (Standard Level)
Students do not appear on a Standards card immediately. Cards populate once there is a minimum amount of evidence — specifically, a student needs to answer at least 3 questions across 3 different skills before they appear on a Standards card for that view.
Use Standards cards to answer:
Which students are on track vs. need support for a given standard?
Where should I reteach vs. intervene?
What Do Percentages and Measures Represent?
Predicted Proficiency (%)
Predicted Proficiency is a percentage estimate of how likely a student is to be proficient on a given standard, based on the evidence Edia has collected so far.
A higher percentage means more evidence the student is on track
A lower percentage may indicate "needs more time" or "needs support," depending on how much practice time the student has accumulated (see proficiency colors below)
Proficiency Colors: How Edia Determines Green, Yellow, and Red
Edia assigns a proficiency color using two signals:
Predicted Proficiency (%)
Total practice time on the standard
Important: The time threshold is cumulative time spent on that standard across all connected activities, not just a single assignment.
Green — Predicted Proficiency ≥ 75%
The student has demonstrated strong evidence of proficiency.
Yellow — Predicted Proficiency ≤ 74% and less than 1 hour total practice time
The student is not yet predicted proficient, but there isn't enough cumulative time or evidence to identify them as high-need. They may simply need more practice time.
Red — Predicted Proficiency ≤ 74% and 1 hour or more total practice time
After meaningful time on the standard, the student is still not predicted proficient. This is a signal that targeted support is likely needed.
Quick reference:
Green: ≥ 75% predicted proficiency
Yellow: ≤ 74% predicted proficiency + less than 1 hour total time on standard
Red: ≤ 74% predicted proficiency + 1 hour or more total time on standard
How to Act on What You See
Using the Results Tab
Many students haven't started — re-share expectations, confirm access, and give in-class time to get started
Many students missed the same skill or question — reteach and assign a short follow-up Practice
A subset is struggling — pull a small group for targeted practice

Yellow — keep practicing the standard and build more evidence before drawing conclusions
Red — intervene with targeted support and re-check after additional practice
Implementation Target
A recommended routine of approximately 15-20 questions per student per week helps Edia gather enough evidence to populate Standards cards and produce stable proficiency trends over time.
