Week of April 6–12, 2026

This release introduces state-aligned chronic absenteeism tracking, auto-translated family notifications, printable intervention records, grade trend charts, a self-service IT onboarding wizard, and a "Last, First" name display option.

📅 Attendance

Year-to-Date Chronic Absenteeism Tracking

Edia now computes and displays year-to-date chronic absenteeism rates using state-specific enrollment thresholds. Students must meet their state's minimum enrollment days — for example, 31 days in California or 45 in Florida — before counting toward the chronic absence rate, preventing transient enrollments from skewing your numbers.

Why it matters: District leaders can now track chronic absenteeism in real time with rates that align to their state's official reporting methodology — no more waiting for end-of-year state reports to know where you stand.

Auto-Translated Attendance Notifications

Automated SMS and email notifications triggered by attendance rules are now automatically translated into the family's preferred language before sending.

Why it matters: Families who speak a language other than English will receive attendance alerts they can actually read, improving engagement and follow-through on chronic absence outreach.

🛡️ Interventions

Printable Intervention Records

You can now generate a print-friendly view of a student's full intervention record, including attendance stats, absence history, root cause summary, outreach log, and all active and past interventions with check-in notes.

Why it matters: Staff heading into SST meetings, SARB hearings, or parent conferences can print a comprehensive, well-formatted student record in one click — no more copying and pasting from multiple screens.

📊 Dashboard & Analytics

Grade Trend Charts

The Academics page now displays grade trends over time, letting you see how student performance changes across grading terms.

Why it matters: Teachers and admins can spot whether grades are improving, declining, or holding steady across the year — instead of only seeing a single point-in-time snapshot.

Corrected Average GPA Calculation

The average GPA displayed on the academics dashboard now calculates correctly across all students and terms.

Why it matters: GPA averages shown at the school and district level are now accurate, giving leaders reliable data for academic planning.

Current-Year Term Selector

The term selector on the Grades page now defaults to the current school year's grading terms, with improved selection behavior.

Why it matters: Staff no longer have to scroll past prior-year terms to find the current quarter or semester — the selector shows what's relevant right away.

🖥️ User Experience

"Last, First" Name Display

When sorting any student list by last name, names now display in Last, First format. Your preference is remembered across sessions and applies to all screens — attendance, grades, behavior, interventions, and student roster.

Why it matters: Staff who manage large student lists alphabetically can scan and find students faster when the name format matches how they naturally look up records.

Dark Mode Improvements

Fixed visual issues with assignment navigation and floating messages in dark mode, and resolved a flickering issue when toggling dark mode on and off.

Why it matters: Dark mode users get a smoother, more polished experience without visual glitches.

🔧 Data & Integrations

Self-Service IT Onboarding Wizard

District IT administrators can now complete their SIS integration setup through a guided, step-by-step wizard. Supports PowerSchool, Aeries, Genesis, Edupoint Synergy, SchoolTool, eSchoolData, and generic OneRoster, ClassLink, Clever, and SFTP configurations — all without needing to schedule a call with Edia.

Why it matters: New districts can get up and running faster with less back-and-forth, and IT teams can complete the integration on their own schedule.

Improved Sync Reliability for Missing External IDs

Data syncs now gracefully handle students and records with unset external IDs across all supported SIS platforms.

Why it matters: Syncs no longer fail or skip records when a student is missing an external ID in the SIS — the system handles edge cases cleanly so your data stays complete.

Aeries: Students Without Class Schedules

Fixed an issue where students syncing from Aeries without class schedule data could be missed during import.

Why it matters: All enrolled students now sync correctly even if their class schedules haven't been fully set up in Aeries yet.

🐛 Bug Fixes

aimswebPlus Benchmark Import — Resolved an issue where some aimswebPlus benchmark results weren't being imported correctly.
