How to: Manually Create a Class

This guide explains how to manually create classes and enroll students using a join link in Edia. Helpful for teachers who are not using auto-rostered systems.

Edia makes it easy to manage your classroom. From setting up new classes to tracking individual student progress. This guide walks you through how to manually create classes and add students when your school isn’t using an automatic rostering provider.

Creating a Class Manually

If your classes aren’t automatically rostered through systems like Clever or ClassLink, you can create them yourself directly in Edia.

Steps to Create a Class

1. Click the “Classes” tab

Find this at the top of your Edia dashboard.

2. Select “Add or import”

This opens your class creation options.

3. Name your class

Enter a class title such as “4th Period”.

4. Choose subject and grade level

This aligns your class with the relevant standards—but you’ll still have full access to all Edia content.

5. Click “Create”

Your class is now ready to configure.

Enrolling Students

Once your class is created, you can add students with a simple join link.

1. Open your class

Click the class name to view its details.

2. Select “Add Students via Link”

Edia will generate a unique enrollment URL.

3. Share the link with your students

Students who visit the link will:

  • Create an account and log in

  • Be automatically added to your class

This method works well for classrooms without auto-rostered systems and gets students connected quickly.
