What the One-Pager Covers
The parent one-pager is a single-page overview that explains the AI Attendance Assistant in plain, family-friendly language. It includes the following sections:
Two-Way Conversations When a student is marked absent, their parent or guardian receives a text message within minutes. Families can reply directly to explain the absence, and the school's attendance records are updated automatically based on the response.
Send Doctor's Notes Families can reply with pictures of doctor's notes, letters, or other documentation directly in the text conversation.
Text in Any Language The AI Attendance Assistant communicates with families in their preferred language, removing language as a barrier to engagement.
How to Use the Document
Follow these steps to prepare the one-pager for your district.

2. Make a Copy
Select File > Make a Copy to create your own editable version. Save the copy to your Google Drive or shared district folder.
3. Customize for Your District
Replace [DISTRICT NAME] at the top of the document with your district's name. Review the rest of the content and adjust any language to match your district's attendance policies or communication preferences.
4. Distribute to Families
Share the completed one-pager with families through your preferred channels, such as email, printed handouts, school newsletters, or your district website.

OneRoster Setup Guide
This document outlines how to connect Edia to your district's Student Information System (SIS) using OneRoster. It is intended for district IT administrators or technology coordinators responsible for rostering and data integrations.
Overview
OneRoster is a data-sharing standard (from 1EdTech) used by many SIS vendors to exchange roster, enrollment, and demographic information. Edia supports both CSV and REST API formats, but the REST API is the preferred and most reliable option. Use this guide when you need to:
Set up rostering between your SIS and Edia for the first time
Understand what data Edia accesses through OneRoster
Gather the credentials your IT team will need to provide
Enable the attendance map view by including student address data
Who Should Use This
This guide is designed for district IT administrators, technology directors, and integration specialists. Classroom teachers and school-level staff do not need to complete these steps — rostering is handled at the district level. If you are a teacher and your classes are not appearing in Edia, reach out to your district IT team or contact support@edia.app for help.
When to Use This
Complete the OneRoster setup during your district's initial Edia implementation, typically before teachers begin using the platform. You may also reference this guide when onboarding new schools, updating SIS configurations, or troubleshooting roster syncing issues.
What Edia Accesses Through OneRoster
Once connected, Edia reads the following standard data sets from your district's OneRoster API:
Users — Students, staff, and parent/guardian "agents." Agents are how Edia obtains parent contact information for attendance outreach.
Demographics — Supplemental student details. Some districts and SIS platforms also store address information here.
Orgs — School and district organization records.
Courses and Classes — Course catalog and class sections.
Enrollments — Which students are enrolled in which classes.
In addition to these standard fields, Edia also needs student address data to enable the attendance map view. Many SIS vendors expose this through OneRoster metadata fields on either the users or demographics records. If your SIS supports this, include those fields in your OneRoster configuration.
Credentials You Will Need
To connect Edia to your OneRoster API, have the following ready:
API URL — Base OneRoster REST API endpoint
Auth URL — OAuth authentication/token endpoint
Client ID — Provided by your SIS vendor
Client Secret — Provided by your SIS vendor
Version — OneRoster version in use (1.1 or 1.2)
If you are unsure where to find these credentials, your SIS vendor or district IT administrator can usually enable OneRoster API access and provide the required OAuth client information.
How to Use the Document
Follow these steps to get started with the OneRoster setup document.

2. Make a Copy
Select File > Make a Copy to save an editable version to your Google Drive. This allows your team to fill in credentials and track setup progress.
3. Gather Credentials
Work with your SIS vendor or IT team to collect the API URL, Auth URL, Client ID, Client Secret, and OneRoster version. Enter these into your copy of the document.
4. Share with Edia
Provide the completed credentials to your Edia implementation contact or email them to support@edia.app. The Edia team will use this information to finalize the connection.
Tips
Confirm that parent/guardian agent records are included in your OneRoster feed — these are required for AI attendance outreach.
If student address data is available through your SIS, include it in your configuration to enable the attendance map view.
The REST API is strongly preferred over CSV. It allows for automatic syncing and reduces the need for manual file transfers.
Troubleshooting
My SIS vendor doesn't support OneRoster Contact support@edia.app to discuss alternative rostering options, including Clever and ClassLink integrations.
I'm not sure which OneRoster version we use Check with your SIS vendor. Most modern systems support version 1.1 or 1.2. Edia works with both.
