Checking Flagged Conversations

Flagged absence conversations require manual review by school staff. When a conversation is flagged, Edia pauses automated communication so your team can review the message, follow up appropriately, and resolve the situation.

This article explains how to find flagged absence conversations, review them, respond to guardians, and remove the flag once follow-up is complete.

When to Use This

Use this workflow when:

  • A conversation has been flagged for review

  • You need to understand why an absence was flagged

  • You want to respond directly to a guardian

  • You need to resume normal AI communication after review

Navigate to Flagged Conversations

  1. Go to https://edia.app and log in.

  2. In the left navigation, click Attendance.

  3. Select Conversations.

  4. Click Needs review.

You will see a list of conversations that have been flagged and require attention.

Review a Flagged Conversation

  1. Select a conversation from the Needs review list.

  2. Read the conversation summary to understand why it was flagged.

  3. Review the full message history between Edia and the guardian.

Flagged conversations often include sensitive information or responses that require human follow-up. In the case a message is auto-flagged for review (e.g. to verify a doctor’s note) a response may not be required.

Respond to the Guardian

  1. After reviewing the message, click into the Message field.

  2. Type your response to the guardian.

  3. Click Send.

Note: Your response is sent directly from you. Automated AI messaging remains paused while the conversation is flagged.

Remove the Flag

After you have reviewed the conversation and responded:

  1. Click the Flagged button in the conversation.

  2. Confirm that the flag is removed.

Once the flag is removed, Edia can resume normal communication for future attendance messages.

Important: AI communication stops while a conversation is flagged so the school can follow up before any automated messages continue.

Expected Result

After completing these steps, you should be able to:

  • Identify all conversations that need manual review

  • Understand why a conversation was flagged

  • Respond appropriately to guardians

  • Remove flags and restore normal communication flow
